From Our Clinic Stage to the Canadian Screen Awards: Joze Piranian’s Inspiring Journey

At Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic, we love celebrating stories that spark hope, courage, and connection. One such story comes from someone who left a lasting impression on our community: Joze Piranian (@yeswayjoze).

Two years ago, Joze joined us as a guest speaker for Better Hearing and Speech Month, and his visit was nothing short of transformational. A lifelong stutterer turned international motivational speaker, Joze shared his personal journey of moving from silence and fear to courage and connection. His honesty, humor, and resilience deeply touched both our staff and our patients- especially those who stutter. Many left feeling seen, motivated, and reminded that their voice truly matters.

This past weekend, one of our team members had the privilege of attending the Los Angeles premiere of Joze’s new documentary, Words Left Unspoken. The film, which has been nominated for Best Documentary Program at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards, follows Joze as he returns to Lebanon to face the conversations he avoided for decades. One of the most powerful takeaways from the film was Joze’s reminder that we all have moments of hesitation in life- and that choosing courage can open doors to growth and connection.

Seeing Joze’s story reach new heights reinforces the importance of perseverance, self-acceptance, and the bravery to share your voice. We are grateful to have hosted him at ESHC, and we cheer him on as he continues to empower people worldwide.

Congratulations, Joze- you inspire us all!
