Literacy disorders may evolve and change in their presentation as the individual progresses through school and as academic and\/or work demands advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An evaluation of literacy skills includes the use of standardized assessments of reading (e.g., work attack, accuracy, fluency, comprehension) and \/ or writing (e.g., spelling, sentence formulation, punctuation, grammar, organization) informal observation, and parent \/patient interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Treatment:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Treatment sessions are highly individualized. Clinicians collaborate with the patient\/parent to determine goals for literacy training that will best support the patient within their academic\/professional environment.
