{"id":2677,"date":"2011-06-14T10:23:11","date_gmt":"2011-06-14T17:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.everhear.com\/?p=1982"},"modified":"2022-09-29T14:09:51","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T21:09:51","slug":"hearing-aids-and-an-improved-quality-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everhear.com\/hearing-aids-and-an-improved-quality-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Hearing Aids and an Improved Quality of Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tIn a recent study released by The Hearing Journal it was found that quality of life improved in individuals who utilized hearing instruments to compensate for a hearing loss.<\/p>\n<p>The study looked at a users\u00a0\u201dhearing handicap\u201d and saw that a decrease in score was directly related to hearing aid usage as well as the impact instrumentation played on 14 quality of life factors.<\/p>\n<p>Key findings from the study include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a strong relationship between quality hearing healthcare, benefit, and quality of life improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Patients fit by hearing healthcare professionals (HHP) utilizing comprehensive best practices are six times more likely to have a positive impact on their patient\u2019s lives than HHPs using minimalist best practices.<\/li>\n<li>The average benefit (hearing handicap improvement) achieved by patients with recent hearing aid technology is 55%.<\/li>\n<li>75% of patients report at least one of 14 areas of their life was improved by wearing hearing aids.<\/li>\n<li>Eight out of ten hearing aid users are satisfied with the changes that have occurred in their lives specifically due to hearing aids.<\/li>\n<li>Nine out of ten patients are projected to experience significant improvements in their quality of life once they experience a 70% reduction in their hearing handicap.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent study released by The Hearing Journal it was found that quality of life improved in individuals who utilized hearing instruments to compensate for a hearing loss.
