Philip Garber, a 16-year-old college student at Country College of Morris was asked by his professor to \u201ckeep quiet\u201d during his class as his \u201cspeaking is disruptive.\u201d The ambitious young student who has a profound stutter contacted the dean of the school who had him transfer to another course where he is \u201casking and answering questions again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Statistics show that around 1 percent of adults stutter, and although this particular case is unusual, those who stutter experience social interactions to this likeness. It\u2019s the importance of members of the community to be educated and open to learning about the condition.<\/p>\n

In the article, Philip says \u201cI\u2019ve never experienced any kind of discrimination, so for it to happen in a college classroom was quite shocking.\u201d<\/p>\n
