\t\t\t\tFor those of you that watch American Idol, you have probably been wowed by the talent and inspiration of contestant Lazaro Arbos who has brought awareness to America about stuttering. The stuttering and speech-language pathology communities thank Arbos for his\u00a0vulnerability\u00a0 bravery and honesty about living with stuttering. He has opened the eyes and minds of people around the US as he wowed them with his amazing talent.<\/p>\n
Arbos, has an unmistakable stutter when he speaks but it disappears when he sings, which is commonly seen in persons who stutter. For those who have traveled the American Idol journey with Arbos they still remember his emotional audition in Chicago. He\u00a0painstakingly\u00a0worked through the pronunciation of his audition song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” as he met the judges, followed by a jaw\u00a0drooping\u00a0performance of the song, wowing each and every judge.<\/p>\n
