{"id":4612,"date":"2013-05-22T23:25:34","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T23:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/everhear.wpengine.com\/?p=4612"},"modified":"2019-07-29T15:45:26","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T15:45:26","slug":"song-of-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/everhear.com\/song-of-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Song of Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tWith Summer just around the corner, I thought I&#8217;d get you all in the mood with the following poem highlighting the SOUNDS of summer:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Whispers of a warm, gentle breeze as leaves rustle in the trees.<\/li>\n<li>Calls of\u00a0a chickadee, a song in the heart.<\/li>\n<li>Joyous shouts of Children at play, one last ring of the bell.<\/li>\n<li>One final recess, Fall so far away.<\/li>\n<li>A crack of the bat, a toss of the ball, a rout of the home team.<\/li>\n<li>Big time barbecues, hot and smokey.<\/li>\n<li>Pest free picnics in the rain, weird and wacky weenie roasts.<\/li>\n<li>Maybe a curious clambake or two.<\/li>\n<li>Camping out under the stars, crickets in the mist, sweet music of lonely lullabyes.<\/li>\n<li>Fireflies in\u00a0a mason jar, mosquitoes in the moonlight.<\/li>\n<li>Ouch! That one got me!<\/li>\n<li>Public pools in the city, hideaway holes in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Snakey, slippery slides and tedious tire swings.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;re it! Marco! Over Here! Polo!<\/li>\n<li>Little ones, don&#8217;t forget your water wings.<\/li>\n<li>OOH! AAH! A fireworks display, Happy Birthday, USA.<\/li>\n<li>Carnival rides and petting zoos, strolling the\u00a0midway hand in hand.<\/li>\n<li>Cotton Candy, hot dogs and more.<\/li>\n<li>A rollicking ride on the ferris wheel.<\/li>\n<li>The days grow shorter, the nights seem cooler.<\/li>\n<li>An autumn crisp is in the air.<\/li>\n<li>One last hurrah, a campfire crackles on the beach.<\/li>\n<li>Waves crash to a thunderous beat, the mingling scent of ripe salt air.<\/li>\n<li>With toasted marshmallows, gooey and warm.<\/li>\n<li>Whispers of a cool sea breeze, Summer magic, memories forever.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Share with us your favorite sounds of summer by commenting on this post.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Summer just around the corner, I thought I&#8217;d get you all in the mood with the following poem highlighting the SOUNDS of summer: Whispers of a warm, gentle breeze as leaves rustle in the trees.
