During the three hour period clinic members and their families packaged large crates of apples donated by local grocery stores and farmers, into smaller boxes to be distributed to food banks throughout Western Washington.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>ESHC group in front of all the boxes of apples we repackaged<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Staff and families working on repackaging apples into smaller boxes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Large crates of apples from local farmers and grocery stores<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our group successfully <strong>repacked 16,480 lbs<\/strong> (the weight of nearly two elephants!) of fresh apples which will go toward creating <strong>12,875 meals<\/strong> for those in hunger throughout Washington State. While on site at Food Lifeline our group learned of the great need for food in Western Washington! Over the past month hunger has<strong> risen by 20%<\/strong>, and groups such as Food Lifeline are having a tough time keeping up with the\u00a0need.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all our staff and families who helped out at this great event.
