\t\t\t\tThe Speech Department has been busy working on their continuing education to stay up to date and current on new research, practices and studies to continue advancing the programs delivered to our patients, and help create the best outcomes. <\/p>\n

Speech Program Director and Business Partner Maryam Sadrzadeh <\/strong>attended an online seminar presented by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) this past April. The seminar discussed findings and therapy models for Apraxia of Speech.<\/p>\n

Speech-Language Pathologist Jennifer Arenz <\/strong>has recently completed two continuing education online courses. The first was called “Narrative Intervention,<\/em>” and included information on episodic structure, cohesion and the art of storytelling in relation to speech pathology. The second class was called “More Than A Test Score<\/em>,” and discussed meaningful assessments of speech and language abilities.<\/p>\n

The entire speech team will discuss information given during the “Narrative Intervention” <\/em>course during their grand rounds meeting to see what information or techniques can be added to their current practices.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
