Dr. Mackaman presented to the group on ways to better reach and counsel parents through their child&#8217;s time in therapy. The group learned training techniques to help parents become facilitators in their child&#8217;s therapy both in session and at home. The speech-language pathologists greatly appreciated Dr. Mackaman&#8217;s perspective on the psychological side to speech therapy.<\/p>\n<p>Following the presentation the speech team completed a journal review of the clinical application of language samples and how they can be more effectively and efficiently used within therapy.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past Thursday, the speech team was honored to have pediatric psychologist Shelley Mackaman, PhD present at their weekly grand rounds meeting.
