Our audiologists and speech therapists act as mentors to our students, passing along their years of knowledge and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/everhear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/13335970_10156937826205640_3290997273018830323_n-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/everhear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/13335970_10156937826205640_3290997273018830323_n-2.jpg 450w, https:\/\/everhear.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/13335970_10156937826205640_3290997273018830323_n-2-350x467.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>ESHC also gives students access to some unique areas in the field, such as auditory processing disorder testing and first-hand experience with the latest technology Evergreen has to offer. In addition to their immersive training, interns and externs attend weekly meetings and learn about how different clinic departments function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous extern Khloe Layo may have said it best: &#8220;Evergreen Speech and Hearing Clinic has provided me with a well-rounded externship experience over the past year. I have become a very independent clinician, and I&#8217;ve become part of a family here.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are especially honored that, occasionally, the students and the culture at ESHC are such a perfect fit for each other that a few of our interns, such as Dr. Janie Thompson and SLP Hayley Nystrom, have graduated, gotten certified and come back to practice with us full time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESHC is proud of our internship\/externship program, and we are always thrilled to share our providers&#8217; expertise to prepare students for their careers in audiology and speech therapy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since 1979, ESHC has hosted and educated audiology and speech-language pathology students from across the country to satisfy their university&#8217;s graduation requirements.
