National Public Radio’s This American Life show featured a segment about how a college student who stutters, and the fears that enter his mind when making a telephone call to order a pizza. The simple task brings out anxiety and anger as the recipient of the call is impatient and not accepting of his stuttering. The show’s production staff uses radio editing tools to remove his stuttering from his speech to create a fluent pattern of speech. A wonderful look into the thoughts of those who stutter.
