If you’ve ever been into our offices, you may have noticed that we have girl scout cookies out for patients to nibble on. We wanted to share with you a bit about the troop we’ve helped support for the past five years and asked member Kara Marler to share with you a bit about her troop and where the funds from the delicious cookies go toward!
“Hi! My name is Kara Marler from Girl Scout Troop 2370. I’ve been a member of the troop since kindergarten. We’ve participated in many local community service projects such as tree planting and volunteering at the food bank Northwest Harvest. This fall, we even collected coats for Friends of Youth, an organization that helps teens in need. Our troop has had fun though too. We have gone camping, stayed overnight at a swimming pool, and cooked breakfast for 300 people.-Yes, that was fun too. All of us want to thank you so much for supporting our troop through Girl Scout Cookies! We are hoping to save up for a large, overseas trip as a high school hooray kind of thing. The money will also go towards funding for future service projects. My personal experience with Girl Scouts has been nothing short of amazing, so thank you again for your generous donation!”
The next time your in the office and take a bite from a girl scout cookie, you can know your snacking for a good cause! Thank you Kara for sharing, and best of luck to your troop in all your adventures in 2011!
