Earlier this week the Chicago News Tribune posted an article about the power of dogs in trying times. A team of golden retrievers was sent to Newtown to comfort community members during the traumatic and trying times. When the charities’ dogs are not responding to a national tragedy, they often visit people in hospitals, nursing homes and parks.
We see the power of dogs everyday with the wonderful work Ritter, our therapy dog in training, does with our kids in therapy!
As the article stated, “Dogs are non-judgmental. They are loving. They are accepting of anyone, it creates the atmosphere for people to share.” We’re happy to see the people of Newtown getting some comfort from some wonderful four legged friends.
