In nature day, children with language goals might talk about different environments, such as forests, deserts, or mountain regions. This may then lead to targeting higher order thinking skills, or things like cause-effect, predictions (“What do you think would happen if a fish tried to live in the desert?”), and inferences (“Fish like water. Where do you think they usually live?”)
Vocabulary might be targeting through discussion of life cycle of butterflies or types of flowers. For children working on stuttering, they may discuss pros/cons of living in the Northwest versus the Southwest. Everyone will have fun!
