This Throwback Thursday takes us back to our 2008 Turn It Down: Ear-Responsible Concert. Hosted at the Kirkland Teen Union Building and sponsored by Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic, Grammy U, Westone, House Ear Institue, and Oticon, the evening was headlined by Portugal the Man. Since our third annual Turn It Down concert, Portugal. the Man can now be found at festivals like Coachella in 2018. The event brought out more than 250 concert-goers and all performances were at safe listening levels (under 100dB). Our custom hearing protection was given out and $1,614 was raised for equipment that could provide a safer listening space at Kirkland Teen Union Building. Check out these local articles from the event in Seattle PI, Mix Online, and The Kirkland Reporter.
