If one thing can be said about this year, it’s that Covid-19 has thrown all of us for a loop. While things have been very different lately, our circumstances have also lead to some pretty exciting new prospects! For Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic, one of the adaptations that we have fallen in love with is Telemedicine. Our providers can now troubleshoot, perform check-ins, and answer pressing questions about your hearing or your devices online and over the phone. Conducting these quick appointments remotely can be extremely beneficial to our patients for myriad reasons.
Accessibility
One of our favorite benefits to offering Telemedicine is that it increases accessibility to our offices – and not just to stay safe from the pandemic. Telemedicine appointments can be beneficial to those patients with time constraints, child care challenges, mobility hurdles, and compromised immune systems. Transportation, a common difficulty among those who don’t drive, also becomes a non-issue with Telemedicine.
Less Stress
It’s not uncommon for healthcare appointments to be a little stressful for some folks. Aside from Covid-19 complicating everything, challenges like transportation logistics, tight personal schedules, and perhaps a lack of familiarity with the area can cause some anxiety. We love Telemedicine because in these circumstances, all our patients need to do is fire up the WebEx app, and they are face-to-face with their doctor within minutes. We even offer WebEx practice sessions in case you need a technological confidence boost before your appointment. We feel that in many situations, Telemedicine can provide a pleasant, productive visit with your ESHC audiologist.
Saving Time
Evergreen Speech and Hearing Clinic is all about the patient experience, and we are very excited about saving our patients time coming into the office for quick appointments. No need to spend more time driving than you do in the office for brief visits. When it’s time for your appointment, just hop on WebEx with a provided link, and you’re all set.
Covid-19 is certainly a present concern when it comes to accessing healthcare, but we see our Telemedicine option extending far past the reach of the pandemic. It has been fully integrated as the easiest way for you to visit your audiologist and keep your hearing healthy. When you need to check in with your audiologist about concerns or tech issues, we encourage you to make Telemedicine your “Option A”.
