Since the 1970s, National Autism Awareness Month has been celebrated each April in order to bring awareness and involvement for autism to the forefront. Some of the exciting ways awareness is raised each April is through Presidential and Congressional declarations, online events and activities, and local gatherings and events within the community. Ways you can help on a personal level are to promote awareness through social media, wear the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon, purchase items that support autism groups, donate to your local chapter, get involved with volunteering in your community, and share your experiences and stories.
