September 20-26 marks the thirteenth annual Balance Awareness Week. The Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA) established Balance Awareness Week in 1997 to inform the public about the importance of balance and inner ear health and how it affects general well being and quality of life.
Millions of people are affected by inner ear balance disorders. However, getting effective treatment is often complicated by the challenge of diagnosing the specific source of the problem. The impact on an individual’s work, family, and personal life is often made worse by the disorder’s invisibility to others.
During this week get to know more about balance and how your health can be affected by it. It can have an impact on individuals of all ages. Visit the Vestibular Disorders Association or take a look at our own section on Balance.
