This past Saturday the staff of ESHC along with family and friends volunteered at Page Ahead in Seattle. The group of nine helped conduct the end of year audit for the not-for-profit organization before all of the books are boxed up and sent off to schools and community groups around the state. The morning was spent counting books that ranged from hard cover toddler books to the popular Harry Potter chapter book series. The group also had an opportunity to help put together crafts that go along with the public book readings – to help engage children in the stories they are reading.
The community service event was a part of a month-long book drive hosted by the Speech department in celebration of 30 years of service. Speech team members Maryam Sadrzadeh, Jennifer Arenz, Kate Pilant and Alison Beardsley were in attendance along with office staff Peter Marsh, Jody Norwood and friends.
Thank you to all of our patients that helped add to our book collection! We were able to donate 321 books to Page Ahead and other not-for-profit organizations.
