Evergreen Speech & Hearing had a busy month this May. In honor of Better Hearing and Speech Month, we hosted several presentations and webinars.
On May 2, Starkey’s Chief Innovation Officer Dave Fabry led a webinar about how newly released innovations in hearing health technology are improving lives of patients with hearing loss. Focuses included the benefits of upgrading devices and the features offered by Starkey Genesis AI.
On May 18, our team and patients welcomed Dr. Elana Plante from the University of Arizona to learn more about childhood developmental milestones. Dr. Plante conducts research in developmental language disorders. She discussed each stage of speech development and communication milestones from birth through adolescence. In addition, she discussed hearing, speech, language and literacy disorders and what parents should look out for in detecting these disorders in different stages of life. Thank you for leaving us with “A bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to make the turn,” in the words of Helen Keller.
Additional events included a Facebook Live reading of Moo Who? with our speech language pathologist Jennifer to promote language and literacy, and a discussion between our audiology team and Dr. Bachmann from the University of Cincinnati about dizziness and children.
