Tip #6: Pay attention to your communication partner
If you really want to make the most of your holiday parties and gatherings, give the extra effort and pay attention to your communication partner. Make eye contact, face in their direction, and try to direct all your attention their way. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes when you’re not trying to listen in on another conversation, or see what someone is doing in another room. If you do need to “check out” for a few minutes, be honest and let your communication partner know. It’s better than being caught tuning out!
