Our friends over at the Hearing Loss Association sent over a link to their new site, Let’s Loop Seattle! The website is a part of a campaign helping to increase access to sound for those with hearing loss throughout the Puget Sound region.
Hearing Loop technology provides people with hearing loss the opportunity to hear the world clearly with the flip of a switch. A hearing loop sends clear pure sound to a person’s t-coil equipped hearing aid and is the internationally accepted standard for providing universal hearing access. The technology is widely spread across Northern Europe with much success.
Here is a video that helps explain how loop technology works:
Sixty-nine percent of all hearing aids dispensed in the U.S. today have T-coils, including many of the hearing instruments available at our clinic, yet far too few consumers and businesses know about them. By educating consumers, business leaders and public officials we can inspire our community to embrace Hearing Loops and “Share the Sound”.
