We’re excited to announce that three students will join us this year to better explore their own audiology careers and help enhance our comprehensive patient care at Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic.
ESHC is proud of our internship/externship program, and we are always thrilled to share our providers’ expertise to prepare students for their careers in audiology and speech therapy.
About Our Externs
Since 1979, ESHC has hosted and educated audiology and speech-language pathology students from across the country to satisfy their university’s graduation requirements. Our audiologists and speech therapists act as mentors to our students, passing along their years of knowledge and experience.
This year’s externs are Lindsay, Chase and Morganne. They’re each thrilled to share their own stories and continue their new audiological journeys in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Lindsay
Lindsay comes from Pacific University has lived in Portland for the past five years. She has an undergraduate degree in English and has always loved linguistics, writing and reading. She worked in different schools throughout Oregon as a one-on-one aide before discovering her passion for audiology. What drew her to ESHC was the opportunity to work with other hearing health professionals so closely. In her spare time, she loves to bake, read and hang out with her dog, Pasha. She also worked at several national parks, including Yellowstone, during her summers in college.
Chase
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Chase is new to the Pacific Northwest. He chose to work with ESHC because of the wide range of audiology services offered and due to how much the team values its community and patients.
In his spare time, he loves kayaking, listening to music and watching movies. He also enjoys hiking and welcomes any tips on best spots to visit in the area. Chase also has more than 15 years of experience playing the double bass.
Morganne
Morganne comes to us from Pennsylvania and traveled to the West Coast to continue her education. She went to college in Arkansas and then moved to Tucson for graduate school at the University of Arizona. Today, she looks forward to further exploring the Pacific Northwest as she enhances her own skills in the field of audiology. She came to ESHC because of our commitment to patients, comprehensive care and evidence-based practices. In her spare time, Morganne enjoys hiking, kayaking, baking, reading and going to the theater. She’s also a traveler (who has even flown a plane) and looks forward to hearing any of the adventurous stories that our own patients may have.
All three externs look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing with the experts at ESHC. We hope you get a chance to meet them yourself during your next visit!
