We are excited to announce the addition of a new member to our speech team, Ritter the therapy dog, in training! Ritter is a 4-month-old chocolate lab that is tirelessly working with his owner, and speech-language pathologist Jennifer Dierenfeld to earn his therapy dog certification through the Delta Society.
Ritter and Jennifer are working together to bring AAT to ESHC. Studies show that animals can increase language production, increase literacy, and have dramatic positive effects on social interactions, along with a child’s overall health and well-being. We are excited to have Ritter work with our patients to achieve positive results in combination with our already prestigious programs.
Ritter is up to date on all vaccinations, veterinary check-ups and has completed his first level of therapy dog obedience training. He will start his in clinic training on Monday, April 4th under the guidance of Jennifer. Ritter will be in the Redmond office on Monday’s and Tuesday’s during his one-year training program.
