Audiology Assistant Gini Retka attended a workshop called “Updates in Audiologic Treatment and Management” sponsored by Washington Society of Audiology (WSA) this past weekend. The workshop featured many distinguished professionals presenting new information on technology, treatment plans, and audiology roles in hearing management.
The workshop included three presenters. Dr. Pamela Souza a researcher at the University of Washington was the first lecturer and presented information on treatment decisions for people with severe hearing loss. Also from the University of Washington, Dr. Kelly Treblay lectured on a unique topic, the connection between hearing aids and the brain and how it all works. The final presentation was given by Dr. James Henry of the Portland Veteran’s Adminiatration on the e of the audiologist in Tinnitus management.
Ms. Retka found the information very interesting and thoroughly enjoyed the instructive presentations.
