Today marks the fifth day of Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM), and you may be asking yourself, “exactly what does BHSM mean?”
BHSM is a month dedicated to raising awareness about communication disorders and the treatments that can improve the quality of life for those who experience problems with speaking, understanding, or hearing. The month also celebrates the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology, that work with these individuals to create clearer communication.
At ESHC we celebrate the month by bringing our knowledge of speech and hearing disorders, treatments and prevention into the community! You can join us by taking part in one of the many events we have planned this month, starting this weekend with the Kirkland Half Marathon and 5K!
Help us spread the word on BHSM this May by posting facts on your facebook or twitter accounts and sharing with friends and family what you’ve learned from your own experiences or posts you’ve read online. Together we can make a difference!
